To join the hackathon, you'll need;

  • Create or join a team
  • Create a Weavy account
  • Access to your Atlassian account

To get started with Weavy and create your first "hello world" app with Weavy, follow these steps;

  1. Create a Weavy account
  2. Configure the account with your details
  3. Create an environment
  4. Click Get started in the Start building banner
  5. Click Atlassian
  6. Copy the API key
  7. Click the Explore tutorials
  8. Choose either the quickstart for Confluence or Jira
  9. Follow the steps in the tutorial to build your first "hello world" app with Weavy and Atlassian Forge

Eligibility and Registration

  • Participants: Open to individuals and teams (up to 4 members) over 18, including developers, product managers, UI/UX designers, and tech enthusiasts.
  • Registration: Sign up and create a team for the hackathon - open until three days before the hackathon ends.

Hackathon Format and Rules

  • Development Window: Upon registration, you have a 72-hours to ideate, develop, and submit your project, leveraging the synergies between Weavy’s collaboration building blocks and Atlassian Forge.
  • Tech Stack: Your project should integrate Weavy and Atlassian Forge, showcasing how these platforms can enhance experiences in Jira and Confluence.

Submission Guidelines

  • Dual Submission:
    • GitHub: Submit your project's code and documentation in a public GitHub repository, including a detailed README.md file.
    • YouTube: Complement your submission with a video presentation (3-5 minutes) on YouTube, demonstrating your project's functionality and its potential impact.
  • Submission: Use the form in your team panel to submit both your GitHub repository link and YouTube video URL.

Judging Criteria and Awards

  • Evaluation: Projects will be judged based on innovation, technical execution, user impact, and clarity of presentation. Special emphasis will be on the effective use of Weavy and Atlassian Forge.
  • Prizes: Winners will be celebrated in a virtual awards ceremony, with prizes designed to support further development and exposure in the tech ecosystem.

Intellectual Property (IP) and Conduct

  • IP Ownership: Participants retain ownership of their IP, including software, ideas, and content created for the hackathon.
  • License to Use: By participating, you grant Weavy a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display and promote your submission in relation to the hackathon and future events.
  • IP Respect: Ensure your submission does not infringe on third-party rights and includes the necessary permissions for any used resources.
  • Conduct: Maintain professionalism and respect throughout the event. Harassment or abusive behavior will result in disqualification.

Protecting Your Work

  • Open Source: If incorporating or contributing to open-source software, adhere to the respective licenses and consider including a license file in your project.
  • Protection Measures: Consider taking steps to protect your IP, such as documenting your development process or exploring patents where applicable.

If you love to code, you are more than welcome to participate.

In the Team panel to the right, you have a tab that says Submit, whenever you are ready, and before the deadline - submit your project there according to the rules.
